Looking for a cheap light tent for small product photography but not so hot with the DIY? Take a trip to Ikea and pick yourself up a white Skubb laundry bag. You’ve got a couple of options - there’s this one or this one. They’ve both got a clever built in stand that’ll mean they fold flat for portability and easy storage but they’ll keep their shape when you put them up - a bit like those pop-up camping tents.

All you have to do to is set up a flash or two to fire at the outside of the skubb and you’ll get a nice even light over your subject and a bright white background. I was a bit lazy in this set up and only used one flash but one on each side and maybe one behind to whiten the background would’ve improved the final result.

As a bonus, you can turn things around and put your flash inside this big white free-standing bag and use it as a pretty effective soft box.
